Introducing Consola

Load customized media onto Consola and direct it to automatically manage & send that content to nearby mobile devices with Bluetooth.

Consola is a Bluetooth Placecasting software for Mac OS X 'Tiger', which persistently detects all Bluetooth-enabled devices in range and sends them data over an industrial, scientific and medical (ISM) band at 2.4 to 2.485 GHz, which is available and unlicensed in most countries.

What is Placecasting

The basic description of Placecasting consists of setting up a Bluetooth-enabled computer at a particular location and then 'broadcasting' information & media such as text, images, Java, audio or video to other Bluetooth-enabled devices within range. Nearby 'Discoverable' Bluetooth devices are automatically sent a message asking if the user would like to receive the content.

How it works

  • Determine the Placecasting area
  • Create/Repurpose content for the mobile platform
  • Setup Consola
  • Deploy an Apple computer, with Bluetooth (built-in or adapter), running Consola manually or automatically
  • Incorporate it into numerous forms of display media. Let your audience know about your location-based service
  • Placecast media such as video, audio, images, text, Java, Flash to nearby Bluetooth devices
  • Gather thorough usage reports and track the success rate of your Placecasting sessions
